Dear KCC Members and Friends,
It is nearly mid-August, and we are headed toward autumn. As we enjoy these blessed, balmy days we have so much for which to be grateful, including our loving congregation and beautiful church.
Jim Fish will be away on August 14 and 21. Carolyn Woodson will be our guest preacher on August 14 and Charlie Ensley will lead us on August 21.
Cathy is on vacation in August. Sally will fill in for most of this time, taking care of bulletins and Notes and News. Notes and News will not be published on August 31.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, and we'll get ready to 'roll up our sleeves' in September!

Other news of the church--
Please remember the following church members and friends in your prayers:
Donna and family
A prayer for recovery from sickness:
Almighty and merciful God, you are the only source of health and healing; you alone can bring calmness and peace. Grant to us, your children, an awareness of your presence and a strong confidence in you. In our pain, our weariness, and our anxiety, surround us with your care, protect us by your loving might, and permit us once more to enjoy health and strength and peace; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
Happening now (or recently)--
From the Moderator--
“To pour from one container into another. To permeate, instill, imbue, infuse”.
So sayeth the 1957 edition of Webster’s New World Dictionary. That is exactly what our new members, Nancy, and Karen and Ed, have done to our congregation. They have infused us with their presence and instilled us with their warmth and energy. Even preceding their decision to join Kenwood Community Church, they each and all have made their presence felt. We welcome them joyfully. With their membership comes a challenge to all of us. How do we keep the momentum rolling to validate their decisions? How do we seek out the next round of transfusions? Our members are indeed our lifeblood. Let’s roll up our sleeves and share our message with more prospective transfusion donors.
From the Pastor--
Pastor Jim will return to us for our August 28 service.
Have a wonderful week, and we hope to see you in church soon.
