What if each one of us invited just one person to our next Sunday service? What if each one of us invited just one person to our book discussion on Being Mortal by Atul Gawande this Friday, April 22, at 10:00 AM in Fellowship Hall. What if?
For those of you who will be able to join our book discussion, please come with the questions that you personally would like to discuss. Are they around the desired reform of elder care facilities? Or how to choose the right place, which might be our own home, for ourselves or for those we love? What’s available? How do we lead the final chapter of our own lives with grace and dignity? How do we help others to do the same? How do we actually plan for the universal reality of the end of life? How can we most effectively support each other? We will guide the discussion around your expressed preferences. Joining us for a facilitated discussion will be Raymond Dougherty, Palliative Care Chaplain at Kaiser Santa Rosa. I really am looking forward to our conversation.
While reading the book would be helpful, do not let the homework keep you from coming! For those of you video-inclined and computer-savvy, just click on YouTube and then type in the book title and author’s name.
