Dear Members and Friends,
What a day! Your witness to the strength and vitality of the congregation was amazing and deeply appreciated by all.
By my rough estimate, 45 members and friends of the congregation were in attendance Monday, (plus many others who volunteered) from 5 in the morning until mid-afternoon, working on the Silent Auction and the Pancake Breakfast. Another 13 members and friends were not able to be with us because of medical situations or out of town travel. While all of you could not be with us in person, we know you were there in spirit.
The number attending the pancake breakfast was over 1000 -- a new record. Financial details on both the auction and the breakfast will be out soon.
An event this big required many months of preparation! Each and every one of you did your part in making the 4th of July celebration a wonderful witness to the community. Your hospitality was, as always, sincere and heartfelt. Those of you who spent days cleaning windows, collecting donations and preparing the church for all these visitors, were remarkable. You did Good!
Recognizing a few of you is risky, but I do so knowing you would want them mentioned. Those who took exceptional leadership in this big event were Linda and Bob, Riccardo, Dorothy, Peggy, Marjorie, and Penny. Yes... the list goes on and on!
I am so proud of you, and grateful for what you have just done for the ministries of Kenwood Community Church.
