Church Activities

Kenwood Community Church is home to many rich traditions.
Please see below for upcoming events.

Worship Service

Worship Service is at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday morning, followed by coffee in the Fellowship Hall.

Christmas Eve Candle Light Service

On Christmas Eve, we celebrate the joyous occasion of Christ's birth with a candlelight carol service.

Women of the World

All are welcome at WOW (Women of the World) Meetings (monthly on 3rd Wednesdays at 12 noon, except during Summer).

Share lunch, fun programs, service projects (including providing Christmas gifts and support to families in need), and an annual retreat every Fall.

Men's Group

MOM (Magnificent Old Men) meets monthly on 1st Fridays at 9:00 am year ’round, for coffee, breakfast, and fellowship.

The men take turns cooking and presenting varied programs of speakers, show-and-tell, and topical discussions, and do projects around the church as needed.

Rememberances

On All Saints’ Sunday every November, we remember our saints and add new plaques in the memorial alcove in the garden.

On Memorial Day we proudly and gratefully honor and remember our veterans, below.

Music

Music director Harold Julander always provides amazing music on organ, piano, and virginal, plus musical notes in the weekly “News & Notes” (available via email).

We rejoice in the variety of music provided by our choir, below, and by special guest musicians.

Gingerbread Extravaganza

Kids cover each Gingerbread house (and themselves) with frosting and art- fully-arranged candies. The Big House has a window in the roof through which you can see Santa’s living room decorated for Christmas, with a tree, lights and gifts.

Advent Season

Each Sunday of Advent, greeters hand angel ornaments to all, to help decorate the tree. Special music is presented throughout the season.

Gifts are collected and given to local families in need, and on Christmas Eve, a special candle-lit service of lessons and carols is celebrated.

Special Dinners

Special dinners happen on various holidays: Valentine’s Day, Ash Wednesday, or St. Patrick’s Day (when the men of the church cook and serve a traditional Irish feast).

On Stewardship Sunday every November, we give thanks at our Harvest Lunch.

July 4th

On the 4th of July, Kenwood Community Church and friends put on a BIG pancake breakfast in the church garden. Across the street in Kenwood Plaza Park, the church holds a Silent Auction while the entire community enjoys the all-day festivities.
